Q & A - Frequent Questions
Q. Does your fudge need to be refrigerated? How long should it last?
A. Our handmade artisan fudge has about a 4-6 week shelf life right at room temperature. If you want it to last longer, you can freeze it for up to a full year in an airtight container. Refrigerate it in an airtight container (or it will dry out), or freeze it. This fudge will stay fresh in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Softening of fudge does not affect consistency, shelf-life or flavor.
Q. Is your fudge gluten-free?
A. The good news is that fudge itself is naturally gluten-free, made up of Chocolate, Sugar, and Butter. Gluten is contained in the inclusions we add like Oreos, Graham Crackers, Brownies, etc...
Q. Do you ship with cold packs?
A. Fudge is a cooked candy confection, and heat doesn't hurt it, rather just makes it a little soft, and then when it comes back to room temp it will solidify again or you can pop in the freezer for 60 minutes. We individually wrap each serving in 100% biodegradable cellophane wrap or a sealed plastic deli container, and box your fudge so that it can't run or ooze out.
During warmer months, fudge may become soft during transport. If your fudge is delivered on a warm day, refrigerate the fudge for a couple of hours or pop it in the freezer for an hour before opening. Softening of fudge does not affect consistency, shelf-life or flavor!
Q. I have Allergies, where can I find the ingredients in each flavor?
A. Each product has a detailed listing of fudge base and other added ingredients. Just click on any fudge flavor, and review the descriptions and ingredients, or on the Ingredients List & Allergy Information under Q & A Frequent Questions tab on the Main Menu.
Q. I don't see the flavor or inclusion combination that I want. Do you take suggestions for new flavors and inclusions?
A. We're constantly experimenting with new fudge trends to offer new and innovative flavors and layered inclusions. Our candy chefs invent new flavors and inclusion/layer combinations every month.
Q. Can I freeze my fudge?
Yes! Because of the unique nature of fudge:
1 YEAR Frozen (in a sealed airtight container)
90 DAYS Refrigerated (sealed airtight container)
45 DAYS at ambient/room temp (sealed container/wrapper)
Most people don’t realize that although fudge is delicious when freshly made, it can actually be frozen for up to a year without losing any of its flavor! The most important part of freezing is actually the thawing. That’s right, properly thawing out your frozen fudge is crucial to its flavor and consistency.
